Student Coalition to End Human Trafficking
If you’ve been working to raise awareness about human trafficking and modern day slavery on your college campus or in your community, and are looking to take your activism to the next level by building collective power with groups from around the country, then this retreat is for you!
When: September 5-7th
Where: Washington, D.C.
This retreat is designed to create space for 20 student leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to the anti-human trafficking movement to come together in order to:
- Learn more about the issue and discuss the problem
- Design a coordinated strategy to unify individual efforts to end human trafficking and modern day slavery in the 21st century.
During the retreat, you will:
- Engage in discussions with leaders working to fight trafficking at local, state, and national levels, as well as 20 fellow students who have experience organizing on human trafficking issues.
- Participate in skills-based trainings on grassroots activism, policy advocacy, and movement building.
- Identify goals for the upcoming year and develop a strategic plan of action.
Following the retreat, you will return to your campus with the contacts, tools, and confidence to establish successful anti-trafficking campaigns. By working in tandem with students around the country, our efforts will be amplified, improving visibility of the problem and the effectiveness of our movement. AID central staff and Regional Coordinators will support you and help to coordinate the implementation of the network’s strategy and collective goals.
