Interested in a Leadership Position with AID YP DC? AID YP DC’s Advisory Committee is seeking young professionals to join the committee as the group develops and expands. This is a great opportunity to maintain your bond with AID, gain leadership experience, make new connections, and “bring the world home” to the Washington area! The Advisory Committee plans, implements and publicizes all of AID YP DC’s events; coordinates with AID’s head office in Baltimore on opportunities for YPs in the Washington area; liaises with local AID chapters; broadens the membership base within the Washington area; and maintains a Google Group page and list serve. If this sounds like something you’d like to be involved with, we welcome you to apply to join the committee! Qualified applicants have a commitment to AID’s mission; preferably past experience with an AID chapter while in college; excellent communication and leadership skills; and time to give to the committee’s work. Time commitment varies; each committee member dedicates roughly 3-5 hours a week to YP activities. Interested? Send your resume and a note explaining why you’d like to join the committee and how you think you could contribute to AID YP DC’s work to: Melinda@aidemocracy.org. Applications accepted on a rolling basis. Learn More: Join us on September 11th at James Hoban’s bar in Dupont Circle (map) at 6pm to meet the Advisory Committee and learn more about positions with the group. Just want to socialize? Join us anyway on the 11th! We’d like to get to know you and hear your thoughts on what types of events and programs you’d like to participate in this year. Americans for Informed Democracy is a non-profit, grassroots organization that empowers young people in the United States to address global issues through awareness-raising and actions that promote just and sustainable solutions on their campuses, in their communities, and nation.
